Introduction:
Al ain airport functions as a subsidiary of ADAC (Abu Dhabi Airports Company) which was created on the 4th March 2006 by mobadalah to spearhead the redevelopment of the Emirate’s aviation infrastructure. To this end, it plays a key part in the Government of Abu Dhabi’s Plan 2030. Wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi Government, the company is headquartered at its principal asset, Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Also ADAC is the owner and operator of five other airports: Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Bateen Executive Airport, Delma Island Airport and Sir Bani Yas Island Airport; al dhafra cargo airport, as well as two check-in facilities: Abu Dhabi International Airport City Check-in, at the heart of the city, and the airport Expo Check-in at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Size of company
The airport was originally built to serve 1,000 passengers per peak hour. It has one terminal with 10 check-in desks including one for business class travellers, four gates, a 4,000m runway and a parallel 4,000m taxiway that can double as a runway when necessary. Yet there is a future expansion plan to double the capacity of the airport.

Where in the world does it operate?
Operating since 31 March 1994, Al Ain International Airport is Abu Dhabi’s second airport. It is located 18km northwest of Al Ain City.

Suppliers/Partner demographics
Since Al Ain airport is a subsidiary of ADAC, it follows ADAC in their suppliers/partner demographics. ADAC has created a pool of diversified businesses and activities through a range of companies and subsidiaries. This strategy supports and ensures the development and growth of Abu Dhabi International Airport in particular, and the aviation industry in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in general.
-         Abu Dhabi Airport Services (ADAS):-
ADAS offers passenger and aircraft handling services to all airlines, overseeing operations at the airport from take-off to landing. The best in its class in the Middle East, ADAS is the sole ground handling company at all of ADAC’s airports.
-         Abu Dhabi In-Flight Catering (ADIFC):-
ADIFC provides truly world-class in-flight cuisine to over 30 airlines operating from all ADAC’s airports, including exclusive travel services to private aviation. ADIFC also provides large-scale quality event catering to the likes of Formula One and FIFA. ADIFC has won many prestigious awards including the IATA In-flight Catering Gold and Silver Awards.
-         Abu Dhabi Duty Free (ADDF):-
Established in 1984, ADDF is the subsidiary responsible for the operation of the duty-free (including DFS, the world’s leading luxury travel retailer) and food and beverage concessions under the Shop-Dine-Unwind brand within ADAC’s airports.


-         Abu Dhabi Cargo Company (ADCC):-
ADCC is responsible for world-class cargo handling at all of ADAC’s airports and is currently managing the development of The new East Midfield Cargo Terminal. Recently awarded the world’s best cargo airport (2010), ADCC covers all cargo services and delivery processes for airlines, freight forwarders and other stakeholders.
-         Abu Dhabi Hospitality Company (ADHC):-
 Within the spirit of Arabian Hospitality, ADHC provides a range of sophisticated, top-quality and tailored services for our passengers arriving, transferring or departing from our airports. From our state-of-the-art Skypark airport parking, the 30 room Airport Hotel and luxurious lounges to Golden Class our dedicated ‘meet and assist’ service. We aim to provide our customers with the best travel experience and ADHC continuously seeks new services and offerings.
-         Gulf Center for Aviation Studies (GCAS):-
GCAS is an ICAO-recognised centre of excellence and GCAA-certified training facility created with the vision to become the leading provider of aviation training in the Middle East and beyond. Offering unique partnerships with leading international organisations, GCAS is one of the few aviation training centres in the world located in an operational airport.
-         Skycity:-
Skycity is set to establish the first Airport Free Zone in Abu Dhabi – a comprehensive Business Park promoting diversified private sector investments into the Emirate. Skycity provides comprehensive warehousing and fully serviced office solutions to a broad spectrum of business sectors including aviation, aerospace and logistics.
Al ain airport departments
-         Operation managers inside the airport which is called Airside
-         ABRON- controls the runway in the airport
-         Safety and security:- sets an appropriate outfit for the persons safety, cars permit  and speed limits of the car, roads organising.
-         Finance
-         Human resource
-         P&D civil department:- responsible for building assortment and leasing parts of the airport land.
-         FM (facility management):-
o   Airport electronic :- cameras, bags X-ray scanners
o   Low voltage:- normal electricity like lights.
o   High voltage
o   AGL:- airport ground electricity like runway lighting
-         IT which the MIS is a part of it.
-         AC (air-condition):- a whole separated department for a full covering of the airport.
-         Transportations
The main administration is in AD and there are branches for each department in Al Ain airport.

As I read about ADAS, there is a note that ''it won alot of awards regarding acknowledgement of its operational excellence among other airports as well as marketing, training and corporate responsibility initiatives'',,,which consider it the best service provider & the only operator capable of handling all types of requirements in that field.
